Become self-empowered

Building Independence After Abuse

The Life Skills Program pairs survivors with one-on-one adult mentorship and supportive group work, all aimed at lasting self-sufficiency. You set the goals, and an advocate walks beside you as you work toward them.

Survivors can take part in employment coaching, financial stability guidance, and wellness and nutrition classes. There are also activities that nourish the whole person, including expressive dance and exercise courses. The goal is simple: to help you regain a sense of control and build a future that is fully your own.

Mentor Coaching: 6 Weeks of One-on-One Support

Our Mentor Coaching offers six weeks of individualized support. You and your mentor work together at your own pace, focusing on the immediate needs and personal goals that matter most to you.

Employment Program: 5-Week Career Development Series

Steady work is a powerful step toward independence. Our Employment Program is a five-week career development series that builds your job readiness from the ground up.

You will practice interviewing skills, learn how to dress for an interview, build your resume, and take part in professional mock interviews. The series also covers how to maintain employment once you are hired. At the end, you receive a certificate you can add to your resume, and our mentors help you find job leads and connect you to placement services.

How the Life Skills Program Works
