April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

WHAT IT IS

Denim Day is a global awareness campaign observed during Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Organizations and communities wear denim as a visible show of solidarity with survivors of sexual assault.

By participating any day in April, you can help support Fort Bend Women's Center and its mission to empower survivors.

WHY IT MATTERS

Denim Day began after a 1998 court ruling overturned a rape conviction because the survivor’s jeans were considered “too tight.”

Today, wearing denim sends a message:

"Clothing is never consent."

Funds raised support survivor services that help individuals survive, revive, and thrive through safety, counseling, advocacy, and long-term support.
