The Story Behind Denim Day
Denim Day began after a 1998 court ruling overturned a rape conviction because the survivor's jeans were considered too tight, implying she must have helped remove them. The ruling sparked international outrage and a global movement.
Today, wearing denim sends a powerful message: Clothing is never consent.
Denim Day is about challenging harmful myths, supporting survivors, and standing together to say that blame belongs only with the perpetrator.
Your Impact
Funds raised through Denim Day support survivor services at Fort Bend Womens Center, helping individuals survive through emergency shelter and crisis support, revive with counseling, education, and advocacy, and ultimately thrive with long-term guidance toward safety, independence, and a stronger future.
