The exciting buzz of Music Fest 2015 featuring Australian rockers the Little River Band, and sponsored by PCCA, turned into a full party that had raised $78,000 by the end of the night. On Saturday, August 29th, Music Fest 2015 sponsors, community supporters and friends danced and sang to the legendary rock band’s sound, all in an effort to raise the funds for the women, children and men survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault served by the Fort Bend Women’s Center.
As anticipated the band brought their unique sound with good songwriting, powerful vocals, and guitar harmonies on some of their greatest hits, including It’s a Long Way There, Help Is on Its Way, Happy Anniversary, Reminiscing, and Lady. The buzz for the band and the cause was still alive long after the curtain call.
“Last year Music Fest was a wonderful success and this year was certainly a show to compete, “ said Women’s Center Development & Public Relations Director Anne E. Budill. “I’m extremely happy to say that between our fantastic entertainment and the work of our fabulous sponsors and everyone involved, we couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome. Our programs and services will definitely benefit from the efforts of our sponsors and supporters this year.”
