20th Annual Ramsay Gillman Charitable Golf Tournament Breaks $1 Million!
Sets New Record Raising over $110,000 for Fort Bend Women’s Center
Sugar Land, TX – The Gillman Companies rose to the challenge by breaking the $1 Million goal over 20 years and set a new event record by raising over $108,000 to benefit the Fort Bend Women’s Center (FBWC). The Annual Ramsay Gillman Charitable Golf Tournament has been held since 1995.
On Monday, November 2nd at Sweetwater Country Club, nearly 200 golfers and 30 staff and volunteers turned out to make this year’s event one of the most successful in the tournament’s history.
The excitement of the tournament’s success still lingers in the minds of those who worked tirelessly to see the event happen. Patrick York, General Manager of the Gillman Companies said, “This event was not only an anniversary milestone, but also a fundraising milestone because Gillman eclipsed the 1 MILLION DOLLAR amount raised since 1995 for the Fort Bend Women’s Center. It was fantastic to celebrate both milestones in the same year!”
Lane Pearson of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene and Tournament Chair expressed high praise. “It was a great day filled with lots of golfers and a record dollar amount raised for the Fort Bend Women’s Center. I couldn’t be happier with the 20th Annual Ramsay Gillman Charitable Golf Tournament! Thanks to all the incredible sponsors who support us year after year,” said Pearson.
“We feel so fortunate that the Gillman Companies are so committed to us and have chosen to support the Women’s Center through this tournament,” commented Vita Goodell, FBWC Executive Director. “We’re able to continue working to end domestic violence and sexual assault in our community but maintaining our life-changing programs and services for those of us who need them most.”
FBWC’s Director of Development Anne Budill echoed the event’s success. “We couldn’t be more grateful for the hard work and dedication from the Gillman Companies. Our sponsors are top notch and we could not have done this without their support,” she says. Kicking off with a 12 noon shotgun start, the event included an awards dinner, donated raffle and live auction. For the first time, KMBE 790 AM Sports Talk Radio Host Lance Zierlein acted as master of ceremonies. York, Jason Gillman, Executive Vice President Gillman Companies and Stevie Gillman, wife of Mr. Ramsay Gillman, tournament founder, thanked the attendees during the tournament awards dinner.
