KHOU 11’s Brandi Smith to emcee Healing & Hope Luncheon

We are delighted to announce that KHOU 11’s Brandi Smith will be the emcee at next month’s Healing & Hope Luncheon.

Many of you will remember Brandi for not only continuing to broadcast live when the signal went down at KHOU 11 due to Hurricane Harvey, but also for helping to save a truck driver in danger of drowning. Brandi was reunited with that driver recently on CBS’ This Morning and you can watch the story here:

Brandi joined KHOU 11 in 2017 and is thrilled to be able to call such an energized, vibrant and diverse city home. Houston is a huge change from the tiny southern Oregon town (pop. 112) where she grew up.

Brandi got her start in news when she applied for an internship with KPIC, the local TV station in Roseburg, Oregon, where the general manager ended up offering her a job instead. So at the ripe ol’ age of 19, Brandi learned to shoot, write, edit, produce, anchor and even direct newscasts on occasion.

From there, she moved to Eugene, Oregon, to complete her degree at the University of Oregon (she’s a VERY proud Duck) and worked as a reporter, producer and anchor all over the Northwest before moving to Houston in 2015.

When she’s not working, you’ll likely find Brandi spending time with her two daughters, checking out new bands, sipping on an IPA or sampling one of Houston’s amazing restaurants.

Table sponsorships and individual tickets for this year’s Healing & Hope Luncheon on October 19th are still available. Click here for more information and to book your seat.
